December 1 – Prepare the coming of the Kingdom

From the root of Jesse a flower will blossom, the glory of the Lord will fill the earth, and all creation shall see the saving power of God.

The scepter shall never depart from Judah, or the mace from between his legs, while tribute is brought to him, and he receives the people's homage.

How do I see the “. . .saving power of God” in my life and how does it help me to “make level the paths to peace?”

Lord, grant that my works may please you, and that I may be ready for your kingdom, which is so near.
Lord, may your kingdom come!

Prepare the path in my heart for the coming of your Word and let his glory be revealed among us.
Lord, may your kingdom come!

Bring low the mountains of my pride and fill up the valleys of my weakness.
Lord, may your kingdom come!

Break down the wall of hatred that divides the nations, and make level for humankind the paths to peace.
Lord, may your kingdom come!
