December 2 - Humbling Myself Before God

--Antiphon
The one who is coming after me is greater than I;
I am not worthy to untie the strap of his sandals.

--Isaiah 7:14b-15

The virgin shall be with child, and bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel. He shall be living on curds and honey by the time he learns to reject the bad and choose the good.

--Reflection

In my daily life, how can I personally “beat my sword” into a plowshare and “my spear into a pruning hook?”

--Intercessions

Ruler, just and righteous, bring justice to the poor and the oppressed.

Emmanuel, be with me

King of peace, you beat swords into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks, turn hatred into love and my grievances into forgiveness.
Emmanuel, be with me

You do not judge by appearances, recognize those who are your own.
Emmanuel, be with me

When you come with power and might upon the clouds, grant that I may come before you without shame.
Emmanuel, be with me

Our Father…..
