December 5 - Gifts of God's Spirit

Banish your fears, O people of Zion; God, your own God, is coming to you, alleluia.

A shoot shall sprout from the stump of Jesse, and from his roots a bud shall blossom. The spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him: a spirit of wisdom and understanding, a spirit of counsel and of strength, a spirit of knowledge and of fear of the Lord, and his delight shall be the fear of the Lord.

What can I do today to show that the Spirit of the Lord has rested on me?

You promised to plant the seed of justice among your people, protect the holiness of your Church.
Lord, protect your people.

Lord, you teach all men and women to listen to your word, and help believers to persevere in holiness.

Keep me in the love of your Spirit, that I may receive the mercy of your Son who is to come.
